Inclusive Climbing - SEND Sessions

We’re excited to offer Inclusive Climbing Sessions for disabled and neurodivergent children and adults, including climbing classes, soft play sessions up to age 18, and an Adults Climbing Social. On Tuesdays, a breakout and sensory room are also available for anyone who wishes to use them. Climbing offers more than physical exercise—it’s a chance to socialise, build confidence, develop body awareness, and experience an adrenaline rush! At Summit Up, inclusivity is at our core. Thanks to our volunteers, enhanced equipment, and inclusive resources, we can support individuals with mobility, sensory, or comprehension needs, welcoming everyone to enjoy climbing in a safe, supportive environment.

SENSORY ROOM

On Tuesday evenings, we provide a quieter, calmer environment across the centre to help make climbing more accessible for those with sensory needs. A sensory room and breakout areas are available throughout the sessions for anyone who may need a moment to relax, decompress, or take a break from the activity.

ADAPTIVE EQUIPMENT

At Summit Up, we have adaptive equipment to make climbing accessible for everyone, including wheelchair users. Our centre features a hoist on the main climbing wall and in Clip ‘n Climb, allowing all participants to safely enjoy the walls and experience the thrill of climbing.

OUR VOLUNTEERS

We are fortunate to have a dedicated team of volunteer climbers who support our SEND sessions alongside our staff. They provide extra guidance and assistance when needed and allowing participants to spend more time on the walls

LOOK AROUND

We understand that visiting a new place can feel daunting at first, so we’ve created a video tour of our centre for you to watch beforehand. It’s a great way to see the space, get familiar with the climbing areas, and know what to expect before your visit.
