We’re looking for a friendly, hardworking and reliable Cafe Assistant to join our team at Summit Up Climbing.
This is a casual role offering 0–30 hours per week, ideal for someone looking for flexible work in a busy, friendly environment.
You’ll support the day-to-day running of our cafe and kitchen, including food preparation and cooking, serving customers, stock management, date checking and general kitchen duties.
The role includes a mixture of opening and closing shifts, evenings, weekends and school holidays. Some shifts may be up to 9 hours and may involve working independently.
• Taking customer orders and processing payments
• Preparing and serving hot drinks
• Preparing and cooking food
• Running food and clearing tables
• Keeping the cafe, kitchen and dining areas clean and tidy
• Delivering friendly and efficient customer service
• Following food hygiene and health & safety procedures
• Completing opening and closing procedures
• Supporting the wider cafe team as required
• Minimum 1 year’s kitchen experience – essential
• Friendly, approachable and confident with customers
• Reliable and able to work well independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable working in a busy environment
• Able to maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene
• Flexible to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends and school holidays
Previous cafe or hospitality experience is desirable, but kitchen experience is essential.
• £12.71 per hour
