The National Indoor Climbing Awards Scheme (NICAS) is a UK-wide scheme and is a great starting point for young climbers wishing to take up mountaineering and climbing.
Before joining a NICAS course all climbers will need to complete a NICAS taster session. Book your NICAS taster session over the Christmas Holidays to start in January 2023.
The new NICAS term starts in January.
We will be running more weekly sessions on the following days:
Monday 6-8pm
Thursday 6-8pm
Friday 6-8pm
Saturday 9:30-11:30am
Saturday 12-2pm(Level 3)
Saturday 2-4pm (Level 4)
Saturday 4-6pm(Level 1 and 2)
In order to join the NICAS courses your child must first attend a NICAS Taster Session.
We are running these over the Christmas holidays on the dates below. All of the sessions run from 10-11:30am and cost £15. Minimum age is 8 years.

As the nights draw in, it’s good to have something to look forward to! Organised by the Rucksack Club, the Winter Lecture Series are taking place from December to March at Summit Up Climbing.
The shows are open to EVERYONE and are FREE OF CHARGE regardless of whether you are a Rucksack Club member. There will be a raffle at each event and all PROCEEDS going to charity. The Rucksack Club and Summit Up look forward to welcoming the whole of the North West and Peak climbing, mountaineering and outdoors communities, so come along and join in the fun!
